The Mines E&I Meetup is a forum where Mines alumni, friends, faculty, students, staff, engage entrepreneurs, mentors and angels in collaborative discussions around the latest research, go-to-market strategies and promising solutions to important problems. We meet on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month at 5:00 pm at the Buffalo Rose. Hosted by the Mines Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation, including the McNeil Center and Beck Venture Center.

Beck Venture Center Startup Forum: Investor Panel
Join us for a panel with some of our favorite investors to answer questions about fundraising for founders! Hear from Cody Moore, Jim Thorson, and David Gold.
Cody Moore is Vice President at Caruso Ventures, where he partners with visionary CEOs to scale Colorado’s most innovative tech-enabled companies. With a background spanning venture capital, operational leadership, and M&A strategy, Cody is passionate about fostering relationships, building teams, and driving sustainable growth in competitive markets. He also serves as Treasurer for Endeavor Colorado, supporting high-impact entrepreneurs in achieving meaningful scale.
Jim Thorson is a Miner with decades of seasoning in oil & gas exploration. Apparently needing more risk in his professional life, for 12 years Jim has been investing in, mentoring, and advising seed-stage energy tech, hard tech, and energy hard tech firms, many of them here in Colorado. He also helps organize the Front Range Hard Tech meetup group.
David Gold is currently Co-Founder and Managing Partner of the Denver Ventures Seed Fund. He has decades of experience as an entrepreneur, venture capitalist and angel investor having invested in nearly 100 early stage technology companies. He has been founder and CEO of B2B SaaS and Blockchain businesses raising tens of millions in venture capital and navigating through successful exit events.

Join us for a conversation with Mines alumni and co-founder & CEO of Skratch Labs (www.skratchlabs.com) Ian MacGregor! Based in Boulder Colorado, this sports nutrition company has been recognized multiple times on each The Inc. 500 fastest growing companies and Outside Magazines list of The Best Places To Work. Additionally, during a 7-year pro cycling career, he co-founded The Just Go Harder Foundation, to provide mentorship opportunities for aspiring cyclists and ski racers. Ian MacGregor holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Magna Cum Laude, from The Colorado School of Mines, and an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management.

Beck Venture Center Startup Forum: A Conversation with Brad Feld
The Beck Venture Center is thrilled to welcome Brad Feld to the Startup Forum stage! Brad is a partner and co-founder of Foundry, one of the largest networks of entrepreneurs and early-stage investors in the country. He has been an early-stage investor and entrepreneur for over 35 years, since founding his first company, Feld Technologies, in college. Brad is also a co-founder of Techstars and, with his wife Amy Batchelor, runs the Anchor Point Foundation. Brad has written several books on entrepreneurship and venture capital and started blogging in 2004 before VC Twitter existed.
