ABOUT THE BAND:
Pete is a singer/songwriter musician who enjoys performing on acoustic guitar, electric guitar, and bass. Coming from a very musical family, he’s been pursuing his passion for music, music production and performance since 2009, while studying at Emerson College in Boston, MA. His passion runs deep and goes all of the way back to when he was just a baby and his mother, Cathy, played quite an eclectic mix of music: Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Bob Marley, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, Little Feat, Allman Brothers, …and the list goes on. His father, Lou, always played his favorite Italian songs on car rides as Pete grew up, affording him a vocabulary for the old and new songs from his father’s home country. Needless to say, there was a little bit of everything available to Pete as he continued on his journey with music.
Pete started playing guitar and jamming with his brother, Lou, who picked up playing drums around the same time. Pete grew up watching his Aunt Stace, an incredibly talented Bassist and Singer in her own right, perform at local bars and restaurants, always taking advantage of watching how she sung and how the other guitarists perform. As Pete and his brother Lou both progressed in their musical pursuits, Pete knew he wanted more out of his instrument and out of himself.
#### “I had a fantastic experience studying for a summer at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. As much as I enjoyed my time and grew over the course of a very brief 2 week summer session, I came to realize that my true passion was working with other musicians and partaking in the collaborative experiment,” Pete said.
After attending Emerson College and obtaining his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Audio Postproduction and Sound Design, he moved back to his hometown of Totowa, NJ to pursue a career in Mortgage Finance, while remaining true to his love for music by engineering home recording sessions for local talent and self-producing cover music. In 2016, he turned his attention to live performances, working with a new cover band.
With a few stripped-down, acoustic gigs under his belt, he met Kelly Caruso, former American Idol contestant, Garden State Radio front-woman, and all-around true entertainer. Kelly & Pete organized themselves as an acoustic duo, performing throughout New Jersey and into Pennsylvania. They are NOT your typical acoustic act. Kelly brings an electric energy to the room and they can entertain your late-night bar crowd just as much as a full band.
It was around the same time that Pete started regularly filling in Lead Guitar/Backup Vocals for Charlie Scopoletti & The Truth, performing at local bars in the Stamford, CT area.
#### “I was fortunate to connect with Charlie through another huge musical influence in my life, my aunt Stace McCann,” Pete said. “Charlie is one of my true Brothers in Music, he has a remarkably inspiring life story and is a tremendously talented songwriter, singer, and entertainer. He’s one of those guys who brings you to that next level!”
While supporting Charlie and The Truth, Pete had the opportunity to play the Greenwich Town Party Festival two years in a row, opening for the likes of Alabama Shakes, Steely Dan, The Tedeschi Trucks Band, and Eric Clapton.
Around late 2018, Pete began performing with The Soul Serenaders, electing to pick up his Bass and focus more on background vocals, with moments of singing lead. The music collection was more of the classic rock he grew up on and enjoyed playing to the local crowds in this different format.
A couple years later, after the unwinding of The Soul Serenaders, Pete put together The Last Minute Band, now Renegade Revolution, with the former drummer of Soul Serenaders and Chain Reaction, Anthony Paventa, and his uncle Joe Gryczko on bass. Renegade Revolution now brings an eclectic mix of classic rock, blues, funk, reggae, 90’s, and more, with the additions of Bill Abbott on bass, and Ted Wyman on Bass or 12-String Acoustic, swapping in for Joe!
During COVID from 2020-2021, Pete had the distinct honor and privilege to support his Aunt Stace McCann with the production, recording, mixing, engineering, and arrangements on her debut album Coronacoaster, under the billing of S.O.B. & The Dangs! [AKA Stace On Bass and Dangs for the D’Angelo Brothers /Pete & Lou]. All music was written by Stace, and the album is a true family affair, featuring Pete on Guitar, Background Vocals, Piano, Acoustic, his brother Lou D’Angelo on drums, their cousin Brad Townsend on Hammond B3 Organ for some select tunes, and, bringing it full circle, Mike Corsetto, formerly of Soul Serenaders, on horns, along with Steven Beasley, local Austin, TX Baritone Sax player.
You can listen to the album here on Spotify!
Most Recently, Pete was absolutely thrilled to have connected with Matt Klenke and signed on with the stellar Reggae/Ska/Punk cover band Johnny Five Is Alive! With only a few performances in 2024, they are eager, excited, and thrilled to bring traditional reggae and reggae/ska/punk infused covers to audiences throughout the NY Metro Area!
#### “I am beyond thrilled to have a home-base for all of the projects that I’m involved in and support some of the most talented people I’ve ever met,” said Pete. “Music is the great unifier; it’s inspiring, it’s cathartic, it picks you up when you’re feeling down, it makes happy moments even more palpable, it creates links to memories and places we’ve been, people we’ve been with; it’s everything to me.”
Pete looks forward to performing for you, collaborating with you, or just getting to meet you!
Weather permitting, we will be outside on the patio. Come have an adult beverage and sing along!
