Mt. Beacon Hudson Highlands Hike with Miramar Ski Club

Leaf Peeping Hike from Beacon on
Casino Trail to Fire Tower.

4.4 miles, 1,562 foot elevation gain, 3-3.5 hours - some scrambles.
This popular route starts at Mount Beacon Parking lot.
It begins at the base of the mountain at the lower stop of the
old incline railroad which went up the mountain, ascending
on the Casino Trail (red), initially to the ruins of the casino,
then continuing the ascent until reaching the old route of the
Breakneck Ridge Trail, onto which you turn right to reach the
Beacon Fire Tower, with its incredible panoramic view.

On the way down we pass the reservoir and then end up back
at the staircase.

Be sure to wear proper hiking boots, bring 2 quarts of water,
and a warm layer in case of a windy cooler summit, are a must.
A bite and brew in town apres hike optional.
