Mosaic Outdoor Mountain Club of MD is a Jewish hiking/social club for the Washington Metropolitan Area, MD, Washington DC, VA. Our parent organization is Mosaic Outdoor Clubs of America.
If you're under 18, you must be accompanied by a responsible adult (parent or guardian).

I am aware that the activities of the Mosaic Outdoor Mountain Club of Maryland (Mosaic) may be extremely hazardous and I am voluntarily participating in these activities with knowledge of the dangers involved. I hereby accept and assume any and all risks including but not limited to injury, damage, or death.
I am aware that this is a release of liability between myself and Mosaic, including but not limited to its officers, directors, members, agents, leaders, instructors, guides, volunteers, employees, and representatives. I sign this of my own free will and am not under the influence of alcohol,drugs, or narcotics.
I agree to be solely responsible for my own safety and that of any minors in my charge. I represent and warrant any minors in my charge, and agree to make my own decisions regarding my own safety and the safety of those in my charge while participating in the activities of Mosaic. If I am not currently a member of Mosaic, I agree to pay the specified non-member fee, if required.

This 3.6mile easy meander/ WALK is paved with some hills & stairs. Pace: 3mph. The trek aws at the architecture of surrounding grounds of the National Park Seminary (NPS). After a gander through a church & graveyard, the walk wanders by the Forest Glen Metro Station then saunters amongst suburbia. Latter of the circuit pitstops at the National Museum of Health and Medicine before traversing the NPS Historical District, which appears out of a movie- set or a self- globe trotting trek, such as a Japanese Pagoda and a Dutch Windmill (imagine domiciling here!). Highlights include "those two bridges" along Georgia Ave. that features carved creatures, columns of queens (aka the "Aloha Maidens"), & a quick railroad crossing. If timing works, we could witness a(n)/ the Amtrak train fly-by!
NOTES:
1. Trail Forecast= MAP | NO Dogs. Walk occasionally traverses residential roads w/o sidewalks. Metro commuting is possible via alighting from Forest Glen station (RD line); proceed West .7mi/ 17mins.

- Memorial day TIDAL BASIN TREK: Monuments, Memorials, & the Mall-- Oh My! (D.C.)Smithsonian Metro Mall Entrance, Washington, DC, DC
Honor & Celebrate Memorial Day on this ~6mile mostly easy walk that is paved & relatively flat... Albeit lots of stairs in the beginning. Pace: 3mph. The trek traverses the terrific Tidal Basin & the National Mall. After a gander in the Enid Haupt Garden the walk meanders over a crass converted (train) overpass, then tours magnificent monuments, memorials, & museums. Pauses will be taken to observe, reflect, or photograph. Latter of the circuit eyes an epic Einstein sculpture before passing the outdoors Sylvan Theater. Highlights include Earth Day Park, a handy Horse Stable, & lean- mean- green trees. A monstrous movement!

- Hike: Ca$h Lake III w/ Berry Forage & Picnic (Bowie)Patuxent Research Refuge, Laurel, MD
This 3mile easy hike is flat with DOWNED TREES both above & below. Pace: 2- 3mph. The trek frolics through a forest then circumnavigates the lustrous lily padded- Lake, observing verdant viewpoints as well as winsome wildlife. Latter of the circuit traverses by possible (edible) blackberry vegetation before concluding through a pollinator garden. Highlights include a befitting boardwalk, a firm fishing pier, & the fantastic FLOATING BRIDGE. Bring some 'funny money' (i.e. monopoly; see attached/ uploaded photos of previous years) to flaunt for a flashy photo! Afterwards, stick around for a post-social Picnic.
