Beginners Yang-style tai chi
Details
Tai Chi is a whole-body system of health in which mindful, graceful flowing movements are made without pause; a series of unified movements is called a "form". This Tai Chi class will focus on learning and refining an 8-posture Yang-style tai chi form, as taught by Adrian VanKeuren.
Proper body structure, grounding, and flow are emphasized. Classes will begin with qigong warm-ups and breathing, before moving into practicing the form. This class is appropriate for beginner and intermediate students, and those with previous tai chi experience.
Class held at First Presbyterian Church in the (fully ADA accessible) downstairs Rumble Room, located at 116 S Loudoun St in downtown Winchester on the walking mall. While the church does have a parking lot that is accessed from Cameron Street, you will need to enter the church through the large glass doors off of Loudoun Street.
Please note that these doors will be locked ahead of the class; the teacher will unlock them to allow students to enter starting 10 minutes before class time. Please note that the doors will need to be locked again while class is in session, as absolutely no wandering of the church will be permitted. Please arrive on time to avoid being accidently locked out of class. We appreciate your understanding as we strive to be a good fit at First Presbyterian Church!
