In 1982, the legendary English heavy metal band Spinal Tap attempt an American comeback tour accompanied by a fan who is also a film-maker. The resulting "documentary," interspersed with powerful performances of Tap's "pivotal music" and "profound lyrics," candidly follows a rock group heading towards crisis.

Directed by Rob Reiner (The Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally) and starring Christopher Guest, Michael McKean, Harry Shearer and Bruno Kirby, THIS IS SPINAL TAP is regarded as one of the greatest "mockumentaries" of all time.

Don’t miss this big screen event – featuring a special message from director Marty DiBergi and an exclusive sneak peek at SPINAL TAP II: THE END CONTINUES.

Trailer.

"Unlike the rock band it celebrates, “This Is Spinal Tap” has aged incredibly well. In the 41 years since its release, it remains spry, relevant and deliciously cheeky. A film, if you will, that cranks it up to 11 on the amplified scale of comedic bliss." -- Al Alexander, Movies Thru the Spectrum.

"Perhaps most important to Spinal Tap's longevity is that the group's music is actually good, as well as being funny. 'Tonight I'm Gonna Rock You Tonight' is absurdly redundant but undeniably hummable." -- Fred Topel, United Press International.

"Scores an 11 (out of 10) for sheer inspired lunacy but it's the writers' unexpected fondness for their subject matter that puts the film in a class all its own." -- David N Butterworth, rec. arts. movies. reviews (this is the first time I ever saw a usenet review on Rottentomatoes).
