Join history enthusiast Norm Rickeman for an engaging talk on William Moultrie and the Battle of Sullivan’s Island, which took place on June 28, 1776. In addition to highlighting the battle’s significance in the Revolutionary War, Rickeman will explore the origins of the South Carolina state flag, Francis Marion’s involvement in constructing the fort, and the vital contributions of men of color to this pivotal moment in history.
Books will be available for purchase with all proceeds given back to the Friends of Charleston National Parks.
