See all- Sit and Stretch: Meditation and Movement — Training the Body, Taming the MindNalanda West, Seattle, WA
Nalandabodhi Seattle invites you to join us on Tuesday and Thursday mornings to ease into the practice of sitting meditation by gently waking the body and warming up the muscles. Through mindful movement and basic yoga, we will train in the suppleness required to sit comfortably so that our meditation can accomplish the goal of completely taming our minds.
Sit & Stretch is offered at no cost to Nalandabodhi Seattle members with a suggested contribution of $10 for community drop-ins.
Beginning meditators are welcome to join as we explore ways to sit comfortably. Meditation posture and the basics of shamatha (calm abiding meditation) are the focus of these ongoing classes. Participants are welcome to stay for Open Morning Meditation from 8:00–9:30a on Tuesdays and Thursdays after the conclusion of Sit & Stretch.
Led by Karunika Karen de Luna, all those who are interested in training their bodies and taming their minds are welcome to join.

Five Thursdays
August 14–September 11, 2025
6:00–7:30 pmWe can make friends with our minds and become present to our lives through working with our breath.
In meditation we begin to discover how our minds work. Becoming familiar with our minds and our habitual patterns, we can begin to free ourselves from painful struggles and confusion.
The process of meditation enables us to find fundamental openness, ease, and compassion, aspects of our minds that are sometimes buried beneath layers of thinking. We begin to be able to embrace all aspects of experience in daily life.
