Kayak & Picnic / Monksville Reservoir

The temperature is high! Let's spend time near water at Monksville Reservoir, one of North Jersey’s most scenic and peaceful paddling spots! Surrounded by forested hills and free of motorboats. Rentals are available on-site, and they have everything ready at the water, so no need to carry anything. The public launch is very close to the private launch, too. This calm reservoir is perfect for both beginners and experienced kayakers.
We'll paddle for about 1–2 hours, enjoy nature, and then enjoy a relaxing picnic by the water. Bring your lunch, snacks, and anything you'd like to share.

• All skill levels welcome, kayaking is easy to learn. We'll meet by the rental shack at 9:30 AM and start paddling by 10 AM. Light hiking option after, if time/energy permits
• Kayak Rental Info:
  Single Kayak: $25/hour
  Tandem Kayak: $40/hour
  Stand-Up Paddleboard: $25/hour
  Life jackets provided
• What to Bring:
  Water/drinks
  Snacks/lunch (cooler or picnic mat optional)
  Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses
  Water shoes or sandals
  Change of clothes (optional, in case you get wet)
