Visiting different martial arts schools, I've noticed that most people who attend martial arts schools see martial arts as a separate, isolated element, disconnected from everything else β rather than as a lens through which we can observe how we truly manifest ourselves in the world and moost of people try to apply techniques onto a body that is not yet ready β tense, rigid, unresponsive. In truth, not even onto the body, but onto a mind saturated with parasitic habits. As a result, hundreds of hours are spent on technique β³, while the principles and foundations of movement are left aside.
If we look into physiology π§ , the human body has about 600 muscles (by other counts up to 850 πͺ). On average, a human has around 86 billion neurons, but no one has taught us how to truly use them. At the same time, we carry countless blocks and βsticking pointsβ β both in the body and in the mind. We move through them as if through a jungle πΏ, often forcing ourselves instead of listening.
In most situations, we remain slaves to our habits rather than masters of our condition. The masterful state of mind is almost absent. Instead of calmly governing ourselves and the space around us π, we start shouting, losing our temper, raising our voices β behaving inadequately. But who listens to shouters?. People are drawn to the calm person π§ββοΈ with a strong inner position β one who knows what he wants and respects the boundaries of others.
In reality, we cannot truly govern our own mind π€―: it is built from old behavioral patterns. Our feelings are entangled with accumulated pain π we donβt know how to release or process. Add to this weak will and scattered attention, and it becomes clear: we are more prisoners of chaos than masters of our lives.
Yet this is the entry point into practice. Every time we gather with friends π€, we learn to become aware of our movements, to listen to the body, to release blocks π. All this understanding we weave into hand-to-hand practice π₯. Then combat ceases to be mere confrontation βοΈ and becomes a metaphor for life.
Despite all difficulties β°οΈ, we always have the possibility to govern ourselves β our mind, our feelings, and our will. The key is attention. When we can gather it, direct it, hold it, and when necessary, let it flow π―, we stop being slaves of the past and become masters of the present.
β¨ Attention is the gate to the self. While it is closed, we wander in habits and pain. But once it opens, martial art becomes the path to clarity and inner freedom.
That is why attention must be like a spear π‘οΈ that pierces the shield of our ignorance π‘οΈ.
A live practice where we:
πͺ Strengthen and learn to control the bodyβs fascia
π¬οΈ practice proper breathing and natural movements without tension
π― Develop the ability to structure the body and control both an opponent and the situation
π§ Improve attention and grow new neural connections
