Walking meditations on Tao Te Ching

Dear friends
During this event we will concentrate on verses from chapter 25 of Tao Te Ching. We will reflect together this chapter and then will go for a 20 minute walking meditation in the park!!
Tao Te Ching by Lao Tzu is a chinese classical text with 81 verses of wisdom. Though Tao Te Ching has been interpreted subjectively according to who is reading it, for a seeker on the path of wisdom it is a wonderful and precise guide to the process of becoming an enlightened being, to accomplish, within oneself, a high level of spiritual cultivation.

Verse 25 of Tao Te Ching

"There was something formed in chaos (hun dun),
coming before Heaven and Earth,
existing in the silent and tranquil void.
It stands alone and unchanging.
It pervades everywhere
without becoming exhausted.
It is the mother of Heaven and Earth.
I do not know its name
and so call it “Tao.”
For want of a better word
I call it “great.”
Being great it is far-reaching.
It is far-reaching
yet it returns to its Source.
Therefore I say that Tao is great,
Heaven is great,
Earth is great,
and humankind is great.
In the universe, there are four greats
and humankind is one of them.
People follow the way of Earth
Earth follows the way of Heaven
Heaven follows the way of Tao
Tao follows its own natural way (tzu ran)."
