To paraphrase Ernie K. Doe, “all music comes from Louisiana or Mississippi” which is where Bogue Chitto (Choctaw for ‘big river’) draws its inspiration. A bluegrass country funk band out of Bulbancha (New Orleans), Louisiana, Bogue Chitto features original compositions by John DePriest, the bandleader, banjo player, and songwriter, in styles from Hill Country blues, bluegrass, Louisiana French and country, all with a funk backbone. The band is rounded out by Robert Matschiner
