Castle Island and Neponset River Greenway

Boston Riders!!! Join me for a ride from Castle Island to Neponset River Greenway. This ride is mostly on trails, but there will be some biking on busy roads. You MUST be comfortable riding in traffic to enjoy this ride.
The total distance of this ride is approximately 20 miles but may be a bit longer depending on the group's interest for exploring the area. We will meet at the front of Sullivan's on Castle Island.
We will ride on William J Day Boulevard to get to the Dorchester Harbor Trail, that we will ride all the way to the end. From there, we will ride alongside William T Morrissey Boulevard (on sidewalks/trails) and will then connect to the Neponset River trail, that will bring us through some quiet Boston neighborhoods and parks. We will ride Neponset River trail until we reach Mattapan Center Square and will turn around and double back to Castle Island for a lunch, snack or ice cream.
NOTE: I am limiting the number of attendees to ensure your safety. This is an urban ride, and I want to be sure that we stay together as a group.

HIGHLIGHTS: Fort Independence, Pleasure Bay, JFK Library, U-Mass Campus, John Paul II Park, Neponset Park.

IMPORTANT: Be sure your bike is in good working order! Tires should be in good shape and pumped up, gears should shift smoothly, and your brakes should be properly adjusted. If possible, pack a spare tube in case of a flat. A hand pump or CO2 inflator is also desireable, though not absolutely necessary, as many riders will already have these items.
Safety Note: Bike helmets are mandatory on all our rides.

Kayaking, camping, hiking, bicycling, and other similar activities pose inherent risks and dangers. Participation in these activities is voluntary and dependent upon your own personal judgment. As organizers, we make no claims regarding any expertise for this outing. This is not a guided tour.
