About the Hike

READ THE DESCRIPTION

This trail can be started from two different parking areas. The first is located right off the highway along the verified route. The second, a smaller lot about 2.5 km up the forest service road, has an outhouse and is generally accessible with a high-clearance vehicle.

The walk in from either point makes for a great warm-up. You’ll pass through a beautiful forest filled with mud, downed trees, and several creek crossings. Mud is one of the main challenges on this hike, so sturdy, water-resistant hiking boots are highly recommended. A short scramble over a boulder field later in the trail rewards you with stunning views of Rohr Lake and the surrounding mountains. Along the lake, you’ll find a few flat spots that are perfect for pitching a tent.
