In this class you will learn how to form wire to create links, forming handmade chain lengths to be used in your finished jewelry piece. This is the perfect fun metalsmithing project for the beginner or for those with experience alike. You will choose the size and shape of each link, how they connect, and if they will be layered. (This is a fun way to make lightweight, airy earrings!) If you choose to make a necklace, you will make a strand for the center, and the remainder of your length will be regular chain with a handmade clasp. You will hammer texture the links to create strength and you will have the option to patina your links to add contrast.

Included Materials - For this project you have the option to work with bronze or silver fill, or a mix of the two. All tools and supplies will be included. This is up close detail work, please bring any magnification eyewear you would typically use for such work, any personal jewelry making tools that you prefer to use.

Please wear closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothing that can get dirty.

Saturday, May 24th, 2025, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at the Blue Moose Art Gallery

Learn the tips and methods of advanced grouting applications in this hands-on class. You’ll gain an understanding of how to dye grout into bold purples, pinks, blues, greens and more, then learn how to apply various grout colors, separated, into one work of art. Instruction also includes methods for protecting portions of your art from being grouted (I.e. jewelry, stones, etc.) Bring an ungrounded, but completed mosaic, no larger than 8x10”, to the class and you will complete the grouting process with instruction from Renee Walkup, mosaic artist.

Students should bring an ungrouted mosaic or tile piece to be completed. Supplies students should bring are: a pair of nitrile gloves, a disposable mask, an apron, and protective eye coverings (glasses ok). No open food or beverage containers. AGES: 13-Adult.

Peace Poles were a big hit last summer, so let's do it again! These are 4x4" wooden posts that are 4 ft tall, sanded, primed, & ready for you to paint & decorate. Diana brings in over 100 stencils to add designs and phrases to your peace poles. You can also hand-paint your own designs. You will leave with a finished pole to add to your garden!

Additional supplies are available to purchase: ground stake & solar light topper.

Create two beautiful blooms using the popular acrylic paint pouring technique - No paintbrush is required! You will learn how to mix paints to the right consistency, how to layer them and then blow them out using a hairdryer to make a large flower. Suki will also show you how to define the petals and enhance your paintings. No previous acrylic pouring experience necessary. All materials provided. Your paintings will need time to dry, so can be picked up 24-48 hours later.
