NEED A KAYAK: North Creek, Ballina
Details
Meet at the Martin Street boat ramp, Ballina, 8.00 am (NSW time) to be issued gear and complete paperwork.
We will be exploring North Crk, paddling for some 5 km upstream. The route will take us up under Prospect Bridge before turning right to follow the creek, as is winds its way pass the remains of the former North Creek Rd car punt, now beached on the south bank. We will carry on up past the eastern approach for the Ballina airport and into the middle section of North Crk with its abundance of bird life. On the return leg, the plan is to pull into the North Crk Road boat ramp, for morning tea (if time permits) for a short break, before heading off for the 3 km final leg of the paddle.
Life vests are required to be worn by all paddlers and be sure to bring something to eat and drink for morning tea.
