Seneca Regional Park Hike

Details

*** Rescheduled for SUNDAY, 05/18 due to weather ***

We will hike trails at the Seneca Regional Park for about 4-5 miles and you’re welcome to join us. There will be rolling hills but they’re mostly easy. It’s a wooded area, perfect for forest bathing and relaxing.

Description/ history from Park website: Set out for a day of hiking or horseback riding through pristine wilderness at Seneca Regional Park, located in Great Falls, Virginia. Follow winding trails and interpretive signage all the way to the river, and discover the remnants of George Washington’s Potowmack Canal. This equestrian-friendly park is bisected by the Potomac National Heritage Trail, which follows the same routes explored by George Washington.

Seneca Lake State Park is dog-friendly. A maximum of two pets are allowed in day use areas, but they must be supervised and either crated or on a leash no longer than 6 feet.

In case of rain, we will postpone it to May 18 or the next weekend.

P.S. Seneca Regional Park is at the very end of Seneca Road, which is off Georgetown Pike where the Pike meets Route 7. Follow Seneca about 4 miles to its end at the park. Be aware Seneca Road is two-lane with blind hills and some sharp curves.
