CRACOE FELL & RYLSTONE FELL
ARRIVE EARLY FOR A PROMPT START
This recce walk covers approximately 7miles with an accumulated ascent of around 350 meters, exploring the scenic Cracoe Fell and Rylstone Fell areas. Starting from the village of Cracoe, the route ascends Cracoe to Peter’s Crag, where a ridge walk begins, showcasing impressive features such as The Cross, Obelisk, and War Memorial along a striking skyline.

The descent leads into Rylstone village, where you can visit the historic Parish Church of St Peter, built in 1853 on the site of a much earlier wooden church dating back to 1160–70. This walk offers a quieter alternative to more popular routes, highlighting local history and natural beauty.
After leaving Rylstone we head back to Crocoe Village & the Devonshire Arms for refreshments.
Participants should come prepared with sturdy boots, weather-appropriate clothing including waterproofs, hat and gloves, bring a hot drink and some food.
Note that dogs are not allowed on this walk.

Our exploration promises a rewarding experience with stunning views, rich heritage, and a refreshing challenge on less-traveled paths.
