Bell Canyon to Oso – Caspers Wilderness Park (10+ / ~8 mi, Out & Back)
Details
Join us for a scenic and moderately challenging hike at Caspers Wilderness Park, where we’ll explore a beautiful mix of canyon paths, panoramic ridgelines, and open grasslands.
We’ll be hiking Bell Canyon to Oso as an out-and-back route, which offers a mix of gradual climbs, rolling terrain, and peaceful canyon scenery. Expect steady elevation, mostly shaded stretches through the canyon, and open views as we approach Oso.
We’re planning two variations for this hike:
- Shorter Route (~8 miles): Turn back at the intersection of Oso and Badger Trail by the gazebo.
- Longer Route (10+ miles): Continue further along Oso Trail beyond the gazebo before turning back.
Both options provide a rewarding experience with scenic variety, and hikers can choose based on preference and pace.
Please Note: Not So Casual means our hikes double as a workout — brisk pace, solid climbs, and an endurance challenge paired with a friendly, supportive group vibe. Come prepared with gear, water, and your best effort, and you’ll fit right in. The group moves at a steady, moderate-to-fast pace and may not wait if you fall behind, so please know your limits and be ready to hike at this level — or plan to finish on your own, ideally by pairing up with someone at a similar pace.
