Long Island City: Open studios, museum, galleries, & Indonesian food

A thriving, often-overlooked arts community has sprung up in Long Island City. In addition to the usual attractions--art galleries and MoMA PS1, a contemporary-arts center affiliated with the Museum of Modern Art--neighborhood artists will open their studios to the public this weekend. We'll also visit Gantry State Park overlooking the East River, with great views of Manhattan.
LUNCH: we will eat at an Indonesian food fair. Or you could bring your own lunch. we'll start eating at around 2:00 p.m

DISTANCE: About 2-3 miles, ending at around 4 PM. But you can leave earlier, of course.
COST: Whatever you wish to pay at the museum and lunch plus $1 CASH for me
