Great North Walk - Third Segment - Thornleigh to Hornsby

This is the 3rd section of our Great North Walk.
Meet: Thornleigh Train station on the car park side . See What3words Ample parking at the station on the weekend.
Distance, Time, Effort: 10.2 km, under 3 hours, Moderate - Hard
Public transport example: Train from Central Platform 18 at 07:03am gets in 07:47am, or 07:18am gets in 08:05am We will wait for the later train.
Driving: You can park at Thornleigh or Hornsby Best train from Hornsby Platform 3 leaves at 7:54am gets in at 8:00am
The hike: This is mostly all bush track so hiking shoes/boots/trail runners are recommended. Bring 2-3 litres of water. This can be a tough hike for some with lots of elevation change, so don't be fooled by the shorter distance. There is an option to drop out about halfway at Westleigh
