A Night of Massacring Gourds (aka let's carve some pumpkins~π)
Details
Come one, come all, it's time for a pumpkin massacre!
Bring your own pumpkin, big or small, real or faux!
Carving tools will be provided. Plus, there will be a painting station for those of us who might want to add some extra pizzazz or rather not carve their pumpkin, but just decorate instead. I can provide some stencils too so don't panic if you don't have a specific design in mind. Tea lights will be available to light up our final designs. Though if you have an electric candle, those will be better for treated pumpkins (read below for more info).
Not in the mood for pumpkin carving? For a limited time we have two DDR arcade pads too! Come show off your prowess and moves. And dance battle the night away~ And maybe, there just might be a Halloween treat making station and a scary movie playing in the background too. πππΊπ»
Also feel free to test run your Halloween outfits before Friday the 31st, or just come in your spooky casuals. And if you feel so inclined to bring snacks or drinks to share, that would be most welcomed.
On Parking: Generally easy street parking
Location: Los Altos Hills. Info will be dmed to guests.
Allergy heads-up: Resident cat, so plan accordingly :)
Event fee: A $5 donation to @echoechoechooo on Venmo would be most welcomed to cover part of the cost of hosting and getting all the materials. If you aren't able to contribute at this time, no worries. We would still love to have you.

Extra Tips: Want your design to last?
Carve-able faux pumpkins are a thing! Available at Target. Also painting real pumpkin will last longer than carved. But for those who plan on gutting their gourds, here are some tips and tricks:
::Jack-o'-lantern Preservation::
Your carved pumpkin should last 2 days without the need to do anything extra but it is advised to elevate your pumpkin a bit off the floor if possible. Also if it is moist or rains, it is better to temporarily take your pumpkin inside. If you want to make sure your pumpkin lasts longer and doesn't mold, here are some suggestions: https://food52.com/blog/24539-how-to-preserve-pumpkins https://www.bhg.com/halloween/pumpkins/how-to-make-your-pumpkins-last-longer/
Best preservation method: Bleach soak (extra: after dry, petroleum jelly)
2nd best: daily bleach spray
Less harsh: Castile soap Environmentally friendly: vinegar
Non DIY: Pumpkin Fresh spray
DO NOT π« use a real candle after treatment. Only electric ones are advisable. (There are cheap ones at the dollar store.)
Also if you do the bleach soak, use full strength.
