• Where do we paddle? Wherever there is water!! Lakes, rivers, creeks, canals, etc.
• Activities are planned for both time on the water and time socializing in other settings.
• Opportunities for educational & training programs will be offered... both in the classroom and on the water from other organizations. Varied topics will be covered to help further your kayaking skills, regardless of your current level.
• Generally, events are organized right here in Northeast Ohio. However on occasion, we will expand our horizons to include surrounding states & even overnight trips (camping or hotel)
• Committed to collaboration with ODNR, ACA, USPS, local Metro Parks & outfitters, and also other boating groups that are in alignment with our goals.

See all- Join us for a scenic paddle on the Grand River! (Part 1)Harpersfield Covered Bridge Metropark, Geneva, OH
We’ll explore the officially designated Scenic section of the Grand River, paddling downstream from the Cork Cold Springs Road bridge to the Harpersfield Covered Bridge.
This stretch is part of Ohio’s State Scenic River system—expect natural beauty, abundant wildlife, and a peaceful current as we wind our way through this unspoiled landscape.
I’ve never paddled this section before, so join me for an exploration tour! Let’s discover it together.
Location: Harpersfield Covered Bridge (GPS 41.75651, -80.94637)
Time: Please arrive by 8:00 AM to allow time for unloading and shuttle coordination.***
Highlights:
- A relaxing downstream paddle through one of Ohio's most scenic and undeveloped river corridors
- Towering shale cliffs, gentle riffles, and frequent bird sightings along the way
- A picturesque finish at the historic Harpersfield Covered Bridge Metro Park
***
Recommendations:
- A river kayak with good tracking (ideally 12’ or shorter) is recommended for comfort and ease
- Bring water, snacks, sun protection, and any other personal essentials
- We’ll need to self-organize a vehicle shuttle—please be ready to assist
***
Please note:
This is a casual meet-up. I’m a fellow paddler—not a guide or expert. While I’ve been paddling regularly since 2021, I do not have formal training in rescue, navigation, or first aid. This event is weather-dependent, and by joining, you assume full responsibility for your own safety.***
Courtesy request:
If you RSVP but later can’t attend, please let me know—no ghosting, please. You’re officially on the trip once you RSVP and meet me in the parking lot. Until we make in-person contact, you’re on your own.***
