Design Systems for Design Teams: Getting what you need

Join us for the third event in a series of four Expert Talks on Design Systems and Development Libraries.

Design Systems save organisations time and money by codifying design decisions that can be replicated at scale. They also improve the customer experience by ensuring consistency, familiarity, and accessibility at every touchpoint.

The third event on Wednesday 7th August 2024 at 6.00 pm (doors open 5:30pm), is about Design Systems for Designers in a modern Enterprise.

We’ll be exploring Design Systems from a designers’ perspective and how to improve consistency and collaboration on design decisions, whilst keeping usability at the forefront.

It’s an event for people who create digital experiences and products using a Design System or Development library, or those looking to create their own Design System: Lead Designers, Heads of Design/Tech, as well as Delivery/Product Managers.

In this follow-up event, we will cover:

• What is a Design System and how does it benefit design teams?
• What are the best practice design principles I need for a Design System and how do I implement them?
• How do I work with Engineers to create a cohesive and usable Design System?
• How do I get my designers to use a Design System?

Your Expert Speakers will be:

• Bec Monfries. Bec has delivered design systems in various shapes and forms for organisations like QBE, MYOB, Qantas, Transport for NSW and Standards Australia. Bec is a Partner for Digital at Terem.
• Gaston Guernik. Specialising in Design Systems for the last 15 years, Gaston's background includes Architecture, Economy, and
  Industrial Design across three continents. Winner of 13 awards, including the global CIO award at QBE. He has run a digital agency in Barcelona, and led a team to create design system solutions for Schweppes and Telcos. Now in Australia, he has worked in banking, insurance, and tourism. Passionate about UX/UI, he focuses on human-centred design. Currently, he drives UI, UX, and Design Systems globally at QBE, as the Global Head of UX Design and Innovation.
