Music Jam in Docklands Library (Performance Space)

We will be holding our next Music Jam session at the Performance Space room on Sunday the 15th of June, 11:30am-2pm.

We are starting an hour earlier than we usually do, and the library technically doesn't (fully) open until 12, so there will be a half hour period where we will need to stay in contact with each other so that I can come and let you in to the performance room.

Bring your instruments, your musicality, and also your ideas - this is a chance to have your say in the future of the group!

Bring instruments if you have them, or just yourself if you don't. There is shared percussion**, and you can always just sing, dance and clap your hands! Just be willing and able to participate.

***songs to practice beforehand***- we have settled on three songs that the group should seek to practice before attending:
1. Misirlou (there are multiple versions/covers of this song, feel free to practice any and all that you come across!)
2. With or without you, U2
3. Canon in D, Johann Pachelbel

I will be brining hard copies of all of the above songs (tabs and sheet music), but we should also have a laptop ready to project onto the big screen!

All are welcome - from total beginners to experienced players. Everyone has a place in the jam landscape.

Contribution*: $5-10 (to cover meetup costs and organiser time).

*If finances are a concern for you, feel free to discuss an alternative way to make your contribution. I can always use help with setting up/packing up, carrying instruments, taking photo and video, and monitoring meetup messages on the event day.
**exact percussion instruments that will be available for common use is TBD and may not cover all who need them - in which case, feel free to clap and sing along!

PLEASE NOTE: the event may be cancelled in the event of:
a) Insufficient number of people registering to attend. I would say that we are looking for at least half a dozen RSVPs.
b) Forecast extreme weather event, such as a heatwave or thunderstorm.
