Music Jam - The Hen House Rehearsal Studios (Room 7)

We will be holding our next Music Jam session on Sunday the 31st of Augst, 12:00pm-2:30pm.

Bring your instruments, your musicality, and also your ideas - this is a chance to have your say in the future of the group!

Bring instruments if you have them, or just yourself if you don't. There is shared percussion**, and you can always just sing, dance and clap your hands! Just be willing and able to participate.

***songs to practice beforehand***- we have settled on three songs that the group should seek to practice before attending:
1. Lovely Day (Bill Withers)
2. Honky Tonk Woman (Rolling Stones)
3. Hey Soul Sister (Train)
4. I'm Yours (Jason Mraz)
5. St James Infirmary (Collard greens version)

I should be able to either bring hard copies of all of the above songs (tabs and sheet music), or a laptop to project them on.

All are welcome - from total beginners to experienced players. Everyone has a place in the jam landscape.

Contribution*: $10 (to cover meetup costs and organiser time).

*If finances are a concern for you, feel free to discuss an alternative way to make your contribution. I can always use help with setting up/packing up, carrying instruments, taking photo and video, and monitoring meetup messages on the event day.
**exact percussion instruments that will be available for common use is TBD and may not cover all who need them - in which case, feel free to clap and sing along!

PLEASE NOTE: the event may be cancelled in the event of:
a) Insufficient number of people registering to attend. I would say that we are looking for at least half a dozen RSVPs.
b) Forecast extreme weather event, such as a heatwave or thunderstorm.
