Family/Parents

This month's themed discussion will be "Family/Parents." This was inspired by the r/fantasy prompt "Parents," the description of which is:
Parent Protagonist: Read a book where a main character has a child to care for. The child does not have to be biologically related to the character. HARD MODE: The child is also a major character in the story.

We decided to expand this prompt to include any sci-fi or fantasy book that focuses on a family, as inspired by American Thanksgiving.

We will start with a round of introductions, then everyone will describe their spooky book in a spoiler-free way. I can't wait to see what we all choose to read!
