Crowders Mountain S.P. to Kings Mountain State Park- Difficult
Details
Crowders Mountain State Park to Kings Mountain State Park +/- 12.5 mile hike with elevation gain of +/- 2000 feet.
This is a one-way hike. We will meet at King Mountain State Park at 9:15-9:30 AM. Leave our cars there and carpool at 9:30 sharp to Crowder’s to start the hike at Crowder’s Mountain State Park visitor Center. Please DON’T BE LATE as you will miss the car pool to the beginning of the hike.
NOTE: There is a Kings Mountain State Park and there is a Kings Mountain National Military Park. Do NOT go to the Military Park.
The hike is great but quite challenging and is recommended for experienced hikers due to its distance and elevation changes. If you're up for a long hike, we will be hiking between two states and three different parks. This hike takes you to all of the highlights of Crowders Mountain State Park and then into Kings Mountain Military and State Parks.
Note: SC State Parks charges parking/entrance fee. I would recommend grabbing an envelope (but not pay yet) at the self stand on your way in and we just pay only for those cars that remain there during the hike.
Bring lunch plenty of water, lunch, and snacks. We will stop for lunch.
Hiking Poles Recommended
Bathrooms at both trailheads and along the hike.
Afterwards, we are going to
JR Cash Grill & Bar
1000 Marina Village Dr., Mount Holly 28120
