We will meet at the Smith’s Woods parking lot. Then, we will loop around the various trails at Historic Smithville Park at an easy to moderate pace for a total of about 4.1 miles. The trail is some single-file through the woods and some wide packed gravel. We will also cross a long bridge. There are a few ups and downs here and there.

We will start the hike at 10:00 sharp. Please arrive 15 minutes early to allow time to sign in and tie your shoes.
· Bring plenty of water.
· Bring sunscreen.
· Bring bug spray! You may encounter ticks on the single-file paths.
· There is a flushie available at parking, and at two other places along the way.
· Ending time is approximate. This is a relatively slow hike – a happy meander through the park. Our pace varies between slow and moderate, depending on terrain and how we are feeling. But, if you want us to stop or slow down, do not hesitate to ask. We will be happy to oblige. Please do not ask us to speed up.
· We will pass one of those places at which you can take a book and leave a book. Bring a book to trade if you wish to partake.
· Although pets are allowed in the park, there are no pets allowed on this hike.
· Check comments for weather cancellation before you leave home.
· We plan to go to lunch at Vincentown diner after the hike. Feel free to join us. (Separate checks – NOT our treat.) Lunch is not an official part of this OCSJ event. If you don’t join us, you can always eat your bagged lunch at the picnic tables under a small pavilion by the nearby Butterfly Garden.
