Explore the UNF Nature Trails

Details
Come explore the beautiful 5+ miles of trails on the University of North Florida campus. These trails traverse through big cypress habitat, pine flatwoods, swamps around Lake Oneida, and sandhill habitat where gopher tortoises make their homes. There are various trails we can choose from on the day depending on how long everyone wants to hike and what sort of wildlife people are interested in trying to catch a glimpse of.
These trails are part of the University's Sawmill Slough Preserve, a nature and research preserve designated to encourage natural biodiversity. Due to this status, unfortunately dogs are not allowed on the nature trails in order to protect the plant and bird life in the area.
Parking is free on campus on the weekends! The trails have their own parking lot. If you are turning in off of I-295, you will take the first right turn (before the first stoplight), where the "parking services" building is and park in that area (Lot 100). Parking is also nearby at Lot 14, but you would need to walk a little bit to the trailhead area.
