# Welcome to Oxford Social Party w/ Live Music 🎶
Free entry. Friendly atmosphere. Real community.
Oxford can be an incredible city — but it can also feel like two worlds. On one side, student nightlife dominates. On the other, older adults and families have their circles. If you’re in your twenties or thirties and not a student anymore, it can sometimes feel like there’s no obvious place to belong.
That’s why we’re creating something different. IRL Oxford exists to bring people together offline — to make it easy to meet new people, grow your social circle, and actually feel at home in the city.
This night is our Welcome to Oxford Social Mixer — and it’s designed exactly for you.

## What’s happening?
We’ve booked out the upstairs function room at The Cape of Good Hope. It’s one of Oxford’s most welcoming pubs, right at the end of the Cowley Road. On Saturday 27 September, from 7:30pm, that room is yours:
- Live Music 🎵
An intimate acoustic set will kick things off — the perfect backdrop for meeting people without shouting over a DJ. - The Mixer 🍻
The room functions as it's meant to: easy conversation, tables set for mixing, and hosts ready to introduce you around if you’d like. You’ll never feel left standing in a corner. - The Raffle 🎟️
We’re keeping it playful — free entry, but get a raffle ticket for just £1, and at 10:30pm we’ll draw names live for a free drink giveaway. It’s a great icebreaker and a fun way to celebrate the night. - Optional late-night vibe 🎤
If the mood is right, we’ll roll out dancing after the raffle. Nothing forced, nothing cheesy — just a chance to let loose if you want to.

## Who’s it for?
- Postgrads, PhD students, young professionals, creatives, early-career locals, anyone who wants a vibrant social life.
- People who have just moved to Oxford and don’t know where to find their people.
- People who’ve lived here a while but want to expand beyond their existing circle.
- Friends-of-friends — bring them along, the more the merrier.
This isn’t about cliques or closed groups. It’s about making Oxford feel like yours again.

## Why come?
Because real life happens when you meet people face-to-face.
We’ve all had that experience: scrolling endlessly, thinking about going out, but not sure where to land. This mixer cuts through that. It’s free, it’s friendly, and it’s built for you. You don’t need to be “good at networking” or arrive with a big group — just show up, order a drink (and maybe some food), and you’ll find people in the same boat, ready to chat.
And the truth is: if you don’t come, you’ll probably just end up doing the same thing you always do on a Saturday night. Why not try something that could change your Oxford experience?
