The Great North Walk 2 - Macquarie Park to Hornsby 22 KM

This will be the second leg of our epic journey along the Great North Walk, connecting Sydney and Newcastle through 260 kilometres of breathtaking trails. Read below before RSVP.

• Distance: Approximately 22 kilometres, medium-fast pace.
• Difficulty: Moderate-to-hard, rugged hike with elevations - prior hiking experience recommended.
• Start: 9:00 AM, arrive 5 min early to meet at the Macquarie Park metro station exit to Lane Cove Rd (corner of Waterloo Road). End: Hornsby Train Station
• Route: Starting at Macquarie Park Station, we'll traverse fire trails and parkland bordering the beautiful Lane Cove River. Expect scenic vistas from points like Turramurra and Browns Waterhole, plus a glimpse into history at the Blackfellow Head Engravings.
• Support Our Group: An optional $5 contribution is always appreciated! It helps cover our Meetup subscription and group running costs. (PayID available on request).

Important:

• Be Prepared: Wear sturdy walking/hiking shoes, bring at least 2 litres of water, electrolytes, sunscreen, a hat, and weather-appropriate clothing. Remember to bring your own lunch and snacks for our midway break.
• RSVP Responsibly: Your RSVP is a commitment to attend. Please update it at least 12-24 hours in advance if your plans change. This allows the host to plan and others on the waitlist to join. Multiple last-minute cancellations or no-shows may affect your participation in future events or result in removal from the group.
• Be Early: Please arrive a few minutes early. Directions and event details are provided in the event description. We are unable to respond to directions, late arrivals or waitlist inquiries before or during the event.
• Community Walk: This is a volunteer-led walk with a fellow enthusiast. Please keep the host within sight throughout the walk. You're welcome to leave at any time if needed.
