Coastal Legends Walk: Daylight Savings Kickoff – Manly to Palm Beach (35+ km)

Details

On the first day of Daylight Savings, join us for an epic 35+ km coastal adventure from Manly to Palm Beach, covering over 20 of Sydney’s iconic northern beaches! This challenging trek takes you through beaches, streets, bushland, reserves, and stunning headlands. With a pace of 4.5 km/h and only short breaks, excellent fitness and prior walking experience are essential. While there are multiple exit points along the way, we encourage you to join only if you plan/try to complete the entire journey!

Before you RSVP, be sure to read the following:

  • Difficulty: Very Hard, because of long distance, good pace and multiple elevation gains! We'll take short breaks (5-10 min) every 1-2 hour, and 20 min break for lunch.
  • Start at 8:30 AM outside Manly Wharf. Meet at Seashell Sculpture in front of The Felons Seafood restaurant.
  • Route: We'll traverse iconic beaches like Manly, Dee Why, Curl Curl, Narrabeen, Avalon, and Palm Beach, passing by stunning headlands like Long Reef and Bilgola Head. We'll finish at Barrenjoey lighthouse for Sunset photos around 6 PM, and take the bus back to the city!
  • Gratuity: $5 - please carry Cash or ask for PayID.

Important - Please Read:

  • What to Bring: Wear proper hiking shoes, bring ample hydration (1.5 litres, we have refills), enough snacks/lunch for the day, sunscreen, hat, and weather protection. It is recommended to carry basic first-aid and insect-repellent spray.
  • RSVP responsibly – Treat it as a commitment; update or cancel 12–24 hrs before.
  • Arrive early – All route/gear info is in the description; hosts can’t field messages during the event.
  • Stay together – It's a volunteer-led community walk; keep the host in sight and let them know if you leave.
  • Safety firstYour safety is your own responsibility! You agree to follow host instructions, public-health orders and OZ Outdoors guidelines: https://www.meetup.com/ozoutdoors
  • Get involved – You're welcome to send the host feedback or let us know if you’d like to lead such walks.
