What we’re about
Against the backdrop of a rapidly shifting behavioral health landscape, the Pennsylvania Association of Addiction Professionals (PAAP) our local affiliate of NAADAC, The Association for Addictions Professionals, is proud to present its 2025 Annual Conference, themed “Collaborations for Change,” on Thursday, September 18, 2025. This will be both in person and live-streamed.
This dynamic, one-day event is more than a conference. It’s a call to action for behavioral health and addiction recovery professionals to come together, break down silos, and shape the future of care.
Bringing together clinicians, peer support specialists, supervisors, educators, and system leaders from across Pennsylvania and beyond, this year’s theme speaks to a shared truth: we go further when we go together.
**"*Addiction is not just a disease of the brain—it’s a disease of disconnection," ***said Dr. Ken Martz, PAAP President and keynote speaker. “Healing happens when we replace isolation with collaboration. This conference is a celebration of the progress we’ve made and a bold step into what’s possible when we work as one.”

Why It Matters Now
Behavioral health professionals are facing more complex demands than ever before—rising acuity, workforce shortages, and increasing expectations around trauma-informed, culturally competent, and integrative care. At the same time, individuals and families impacted by addiction are seeking hope, clarity, and connection.
The PAAP Conference offers both.
Attendees will walk away with not only new tools and best practices, but also a renewed sense of community, purpose, and power. Topics range from integrating peer support into clinical systems, to reshaping language around relapse and recovery, to advocating for health equity in tobacco and gambling services. This event equips professionals to return to their organizations ready to lead real change.
A Community of Leaders, Not Just Attendees
Whether you are a front-line counselor, executive director, medical provider, peer support specialist, or someone in long-term recovery looking to make a difference, you belong in this room.
Because the future of addiction recovery isn’t just about what we treat.
It’s about how we collaborate, how we listen, and how we lead.
We are stronger together.
