Selden Creek/Whalebone Creek

• You must have your PFD on and fully fastened to participate in this event.
• Event start time is in your boat, in the water, and ready to paddle!

The launch is on the east bank of the Connecticut River at the Chester-Hadlyme Ferry landing. The address of 159 Ferry Rd, Old Lyme, Connecticut, your GPS will get you close. Make sure the ferry is operating if you are planning to use it.

This is not for novice paddlers because of large boat wakes on the Connecticut River. You may get wet, so pack a dry set of clothes. Also bring a snack if you wish.
We will paddle south on the Connecticut river for about three-quarters of a mile to Selden Creek. Depending on conditions we may navigate to the right of Selden Neck State Park island and come back up Selden Creek or we may navigate to the left of the island.

Approximate time on the water is about 3 hours.

Required equipment: PFD, 10-foot length of rope, whistle, headlamp/flashlight (for evening paddles). And be prepared to give your emergency contact number to the host if he or she asks for it.
