Paddle, Branford River and Harbor, Branford

Details
Meet at 9:00 to launch by 9:20 a.m. from the boat launch at 30 Goodsell Point Rd., Branford. We will head north through a tidal river ecosystem with plenty of shore birds. Thanks to a low bridge at Indian Neck Avenue, most of this trip is powerboat free. On the way back, we will stop at Branford High School for lunch. The loop north and back totals 7 miles. As we pass the boat launch, the leader plans a 2-to-3-mile loop through Branford Harbor, but those in rush to get off the water can easily leave at that point. This trip is planned to make best use of the 10:11 am high tide.
Paddlers must provide their own kayak/canoe and other equipment, and should bring lunch, water and snacks. Per club policy, a life jacket must be worn for the trip duration. Rain cancels. Any weather-related changes will be published via email by 7 a.m. the morning of the trip: don’t let advance forecasts scare you away — they are frequently wrong.
There is no need to register just to “hold your spot” because there is no limit on the number of paddlers.
