BUTTERBOX POINT

Details
Meet at Sparrows Leura to organise a carpool to the start of the walk situated some 13 kilometres along a smooth firetrail suitable for all cars.
When we arrive at the end of the Mount Hay Road, our starting point, we have a very pleasant walk to Butterbox Point.
There is a circuit around the base of the Point with a track to the summit for one of the most spectacular views overlooking Grose Valley and River below with panoramic vistas as far as the eye can see. Other options are available for the adventurous or foolhardy. My aversion to heights will definitely extend my lunch break.
On our return journey there is an opportunity to turn off to the Mt Hay track, another spectacular lookout, if you haven't had enough by now. We'll decide when we get there.
Due to the open and exposed surrounding of the track it could get a bit chilly so come prepared.
Not a hard walk (the hardest part will be deciding how many layers to wear depending on the weather) but still allow three to four hours or more to explore both lookouts. About 8 kilometres all up.
Summary: If you're prepared for a bit of a chilly day then you won't be disappointed because the views from both points are truly spectacular plus a cave or two and some incredible rock formations.
Hot lunch and some hot mulled wine or rum toddies should ensure a happy ending to the day.
GRATUITY: Looks like I'll be paying gratuity to whoever is kind enough to let me share their vehicle to the start of the walk. Let's compensate the drivers with a tip or at least morning tea☕🍰 or lunch afterwards.🍺
