Do you want to improve your fitness through walking? This morning walk that will be held every Sunday is for you!

We'll meet at the Salmon Street Fountain at 9 am and start walking promptly at 9:15 am.

Rather than an organized group walk, you'll walk at a pace challenging for you.

Just starting or getting back to regular walking to get in better shape? Test yourself by walking continuously for 20 to 30 minutes. Each week, try to walk farther or try to walk the same distance in less time.

Are you already a good walker? Try to walk the full downtown waterfront loop (2.6 miles) in the best time you can. See more about the loop at this link: https://www.portland.gov/sites/default/files/2020-09/the_classic_downtown_waterfront_loop_walk.pdf

Maybe you're not ready for this type of walking yet? You can walk with me at a casual pace to the Burnside Bridge and back (about a 30 minute walk).

The event should take at most an hour and I'll stay at the Salmon Street Fountain until 10 am to welcome all the walkers back and ask about their times. Come out each week (or when you can) and try to do better than last time!
