What we’re about
This group is for single people in their 30’s & 40's looking for friends and/or a healthier way to date. It’s difficult to get to know people at this age, especially when you’re single. We hope to create fun, easy going events to help. This isn’t a dating group per se (though relationships happen ;) ... it’s for people who genuinely want to make real life connections.
Community Rules:
- 1. Everyone aged 28-49 are welcome to join.
- 2. Be respectful and kind.
- 3. Be honest and transparent.
- 4. Self-awareness and maturity are expected.
- 5. Do not touch anyone at events without explicit verbal consent from that person.
- 6. No harassing or overly negative, aggressive, or forward behavior.
- 7. Instead of asking for someone’s number, please give them yours instead so they can decide whether or not to contact you.
- 8. Do not direct message members you don't know.
- 9. Discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated. All races, genders, sexual orientations, and lifestyles are welcome.
- 10. Our group is “sex positive” meaning we promote an open, tolerant, and progressive attitude toward consensual sex and sexuality. Shaming will not be tolerated.
- 11. Enthusiastic, verbal consent is mandatory for any physical/romantic interactions.
- 12. Make sure to change your RSVP to "no" if you can no longer attend an event. If you no-show to 2+ events (leaving your RSVP as "yes" and not showing up) you will be removed from the group.
- 13. Members must use their real name (not a pseudonym) and a photo with their face in their Meetup profile. This helps many people feel safer coming to events.
PLEASE READ OUR NEW GROUP RULES AND MISCONDUCT POLICY HERE
**If you feel like a fellow group member has violated one of these rules or made you feel uncomfortable, please let the event host or another organizer (like Kristina, Max or Erin) know as soon as possible.**
Other Rules:
- Promoting your business, soliciting members, and/or trying to sell products or services to members is prohibited. This includes promoting dating and relationship services or events that are not affiliated with our group.
- Anyone with sexual offense or violent criminal convictions are not welcome in our group. If it's reported that someone has a sexual or violent criminal history they will be removed from the group. If you know of someone in who has joined our group that is a sex offender please notify our organizers immediately so we can remove them. All reports will stay anonymous.
- Some events require you to provide your own equipment and supplies (like camping and floating). You must have the basic listed items to attend and the group does not provide them. So please do not RSVP or attend if you do not have your own supplies.
- If you wish to bring a pet, child, or someone under 21 to an event, please ask the event host first.
- Any member that is rude to other members or venue staff will be banned from the group.
Group Costs:
- To help with group and event expenses I ask for a $2-3 donation for each event you attend unless it has an event fee. You can contribute on Venmo (@PDX_SINGLES) or pay an organizer at the event.
- Our dating "wristband" events and dating workshops have ticket fees.
Age Requirements:
If you are over 28 then you are welcome to join. The upper limit for joining our group is 49. Existing active members may remain in our group till the age of 53. The age limits are to keep everyone in a relatable life stage. Please do not join if you are outside these ages as we've had issues arise recently due generational differences and older men preying on significantly younger women. We do not make individual exceptions to the age the requirements so do not message to ask. If you disclose after you join that you are outside these ages you will be removed and banned from the group.
Harassment and Phishing:
Harassment, phishing, or spamming our members will not be tolerated and you will be removed from the group. That also includes messaging multiple members in an attempt to score a date/hook up. That is phishing and is grounds for removal. Please do not message members you do not already know. This makes people very uncomfortable and is considered predatory behavior. If you are a member and feel like another member is harassing you via direct messaging or in person at our events please notify Kristina, Max, Erin or another group organizer immediately.
We also have a zero tolerance policy for poor behavior at our events or on the online platform. This includes being too forward in asking people out and making them feel uncomfortable. If you ask someone out they do not give you an enthusiastic "yes" then move on and do not ask them out again. Please review our misconduct policy here.
Discord Server:
We have an active Discord server community that is a great way to interact with group member's outside of the events. To join the server you must be an attending member of our Meetup events by having attended at least 1 in person event. Join here: https://discord.gg/tn66X4Qdxv

See all- Singles Night @ The People's CourtsThe People's Courts, Portland, OR
Some of us have been to a comedy show or two at The People's Courts and had a fun time playing ping pong, cornhole, and/or pickleball afterwards. Well, it turns out they host a Singles Night from time to time! Care to check it out with me?
There will be a mix of people from our Meetup group and people who heard about the Singles Night at TPC another way, but everyone should be single and in our general age range!
Tickets:
Regular tickets (everything except pickleball) are $25 or 2 for $40 and pickleball tickets* are $35. Get your ticket here. Here's the schedule:
- 6:30-7: Check in and get your name tag — and pickleball ticket holders will pick up their schedule for the Pickleball Scramble.
- 7-7:30: Ice breaker, which they describe as: "Break the ice with some fun prepared games led by your hosts: Liberty & Alex."
- 7-10: Mix, mingle, eat snacks, and play unlimited games of bocce ball, cornhole, ping pong, foosball, Giant Jenga, and Giant Connect 4. Board games and cards will also be available. (They will also have food and drinks for purchase.)
- 7:30-10 (for pickleball ticket holders only): 8 Minute Pickleball Scramble. I asked for more info on this, and they said people who get the pickleball ticket will play 5 games that are 8 minutes long over the course of the night, so there should be plenty of time to mix and mingle between games.
For more info, check out the event on the TPC website and the EventBrite link.
And don't forget to get your ticket here.
*Note: Pickleball ticket holders should already know how to play pickleball, including serving and general rules of the game, and this ticket gets you into the the Pickleball Scramble. There will also be a limited number of pickleball tickets, so if you want to play, get your ticket before they sell out. You don't need to bring a paddle, but you can if you want.

- Trivia @ White Owl Social ClubWhite Owl Social Club, Portland, OR
Care to get to know some fellow single folks through your random knowledge of movies, history, food, science, sports, books, and music? Join us!
What to expect:
- This is Untapped Trivia, which is on paper and typically has some fun rounds with pictures and audio. It's also been voted Portland's best trivia for the last 3 years.
- We'll be on the patio, which is covered and has ample heaters when it's cold out. I'd suggest wearing/bringing layers.
- We'll meet at 6:15 so we can chat, get some drinks and/or food, and grab tables.
- The picnic table you sit at will become your trivia team. Teams can be up to 7 people.
- Trivia starts promptly at 7 pm (but do please show up at 6:15 if you can) and goes until about 9.
- This Meetup group is not hardcore about trivia. We're focused on having fun and getting to know folks on our team... not winning. Don't worry about getting an answer wrong or not knowing any answers.
Housekeeping:
- As always, let's make sure to be respectful to everyone and support the venue (please plan to order a few food/drink items) so they'll want to invite us back!
- Please keep your RSVP up to date and only sign up if you're confident you can come and meet us at 6:15 to help save tables — and ya know, grab a drink/food and socialize before trivia starts.
- Check in with Kristina or cross your name off the sign-in sheet when you arrive so you don't get marked as a no-show. We regularly remove people with 2+ no-shows from the group.
Any questions? Let me know in the comments or send me a message.

Tips for making a connection at/after the event
- If you meet someone you'd like to get to know more outside of the Meetup (romantically or platonically), you can:
- >>> Give them your phone number (as opposed to asking for theirs), so the ball's in their court to text you later if they're also interested. You can do this in person, or via a Meetup message if their settings allow you to message them.
- >>> Add them as a "connection" on Meetup after the event. If they add you too, you'll definitely be able to message each other. You can add 3 connections after an event (without ever paying for Meetup+). Learn more here.
- Check your privacy/messaging settings to see if they're how you want them. You can set it to only allow "connections" and group organizers to message you, or to let all members of your groups message you.
- Make sure to follow the Community Rules in this group's About section. These include no harassing or aggressive behavior, no messaging people you haven't met, and being respectful to fellow members and bartenders, trivia hosts, etc. If anyone violates these rules or makes you feel uncomfortable, please let the event host (like Kristina) know or reach out to another group organizer (like Max, Kevin, Cory or Erin).
- Trails and Tails: Dog friendly hikeHidden Falls Nature Park, Happy Valley, OR
This dog friendly hike will take us to see a beautiful, natural urban waterfall, a short walk on a paved trail brings hikers to a gorgeous wooden bridge at the base of the trail where visitors can have views of the falls.
This is a quick and easy 2.0 mile hike round trip. This is a great hike for dogs big and small. All well behaved dogs on leashes welcome. 🐶
The location of the hike trail is located in a neighborhood, plenty of street parking.
Don’t have a dog but want to join us? Absolutely! The more the merrier.
Afterwards, we can go to Valley Public House where they have a dog friendly patio. There are plenty of food and drink options including Tamale Boy and Ranch Pizza. Valley Public House
Please note, because this is a dog hike, I will keep this a small group hike. If you can’t join us on this one, we will have other hikes scheduled.
