Tired of endless swiping and shallow chats?

Welcome to Peacock Dating — a weekly online meetup where men step into the spotlight and women choose who they’d like to connect with — all in a fun, respectful, and host-guided environment.

This time we welcome all the ladies and gents from Melbourne or interested in gents (speakers) from Melbourne.

How it works

  • Gentlemen (Camera on): Each man gets few minutes of speaking time (rationed fairly based on number of speakers) to introduce himself — share hobbies, passions, values, relationship insights, or just a great story. A friendly host interviews you, asks follow-ups, and keeps the vibe light (yes, even with some jokes).
  • Ladies (Camera optional): You can stay in the shade (anonymous) while listening. Send your questions via chat/DM for the host to ask.
If you’d like to ask verbally, you’ll need to turn on your camera.

Why join

  • Stories beat swipes — men show their colors first.
  • Women choose privately — no pressure, no public rejections.
  • Respect and privacy are built-in — no recordings, no random DMs.
  • Social like a pub, but better — people share and show off, but instead of noisy tipsy banter, it’s quieter, deeper, meaningful… and still fun, thanks to the host.

Rules

  • Men: Camera on, time-boxed speaking rounds.
  • Women: Camera optional; may stay anonymous.
  • Respect only — no harassment, screenshots, or sharing private details.
  • The host may skip or re-frame questions, and anyone breaking rules will be removed.

What to bring

  • Men: A short intro plus one prop or photo to “show off” (a hobby, project, pet, travel memory, etc.).
  • Everyone: A good internet connection, a quiet space, and a positive vibe.

For Men - How to Register as a Speaker
To participate as a speaker at the event, you’ll need to register in the event channel on our Slack workspace: https://join.slack.com/t/peacockdating-0kk2689/shared_invite/zt-3fcxriv5s-EB7Gy1xQfymiOjPe~tzp~g
Speakers are advised to do a short intro. If you like you can also bring a prop or photo to “show off” (a hobby, project, pet, travel memory, etc.). Be brave, be yourself, and share!

For Ladies - how to attend
To attend the event simply follow the Google meet link on the event.
Please give your support to men who are brave to speak and open up - use reactions like 'claps', 'hearts' and 'lol' while they speak. Listen in comfort, and choose who inspires you.

What Happens After the Event
After the event, ladies can reach out to the men they were interested in directly through our Slack workspace: - https://join.slack.com/t/peacockdating-0kk2689/shared_invite/zt-3fcxriv5s-EB7Gy1xQfymiOjPe~tzp~g
All registered speakers will remain listed in the event channel for easy access.

Why we use Slack?
We use Slack because we don’t want to collect, share, or be responsible for personal contact details such as phone numbers or email addresses.
This also provides a safer and more private way for people to connect and decide if and when they’d like to exchange contact details directly.

FAQ
Q: Can men approach ladies after the event?
A: The purpose of this event is to give men a chance to shine and make an impression without being pushy.
However, if a question from a lady caught your attention during the event — or you liked someone’s profile photo on Meetup — you’re welcome to send them a direct message on Slack.
