SECURE HAIR- UNDER YOUR HAT OR KEVLAR HELMET. Plan is step by step training to ensure safety & have fun! Pay $10.00 for first timers & $5.00 for experienced Brave Ones.
First, meet & greet inside BK, release form review which includes the safety briefing about the plan of the day & you must sign the release form. I'll describe why it is risky- but if you do everything the correct way we’ll have a great rappelling adventure. From the BK you’ll drive north to the parking lot. Be careful driving & parking. Next, it is time for equipment issue & inspection for the event; we'll hike to the cliff & get started. We'll complete a quick little knot tying class, swiss seat class, & an easy tree line rappel demo to ensure the how and why it's a safe adventure. The FALLING ROCK ACTIONS/DRILL & belay training duties are serious**. We'll use voice commands & belay safety duties for real. You'll rig up a swiss seat-** so wear a shirt that tucks into your belted jeans/pants**. When you are ready you'll go for the 25' cliff 3X. Later the 175' - 200' cliff 1X - 3X. At the end of the day we'll hike back, turn in gear.**
Adventure Program Statement of Risk Understanding, Assumption and Liability Release. I agree to the following waiver and release.
1. Adventure programs may result in my injury or death. Events are physically & emotionally demanding. Rescue may take more than 24 hours since activities are conducted in rugged terrain far from professional medical services. All medical & rescue costs are my responsibility. I may be exposed to real risks from equipment failure, falls, rock fall, lightning, hypothermia, cold related injuries, bites, stings, poor belay actions, and accidents or actions caused by others in the group or strangers not part of the group & accidents during travel to and from the activity site. The risks listed above are not inclusive of all possible risks inherent to adventure programs & I agree that the above list in no way limits the extent or reach of this waiver/release.
2. I agree to assume all risk of personal injury including paralysis and death. While I am going to and from the outing location and while engaged in adventure activities. I agree that I will not engage in any activity unless I have considered it carefully, believe it to be safe, and accept responsibility for all related risks. I will correctly belay for others and understand others may belay for me. Plus I understand poor belay actions from a member of the group may fail to save my life or prevent injury. I acknowledge that my safety is my personal responsibility and depends on my use of good judgment. I understand, to reduce risks by paying attention to the environment, to my physical & emotional state, the condition of all safety related clothing, equipment, & by participating only in those activities that are well within my mental & physical capabilities. I acknowledge that I have been encouraged to develop a questioning attitude and ask program leaders to explain any activity or course of action, or decision with which I feel uncomfortable. I will follow safe weapon use practices and comply with all laws.
3. I acknowledge, I am in good health & have no physical limitations, which affect my ability to safely participate in this outing. I understand the importance of obtaining sufficient medical & accident insurance before participating in this outing. I have disclosed ALL medications & significant allergic conditions to the event leader. I am in possession of my life saving medications & told group members about any special medical information they may need to know. I understand the Meet Up Organizer and group members shall assume no responsibility or liability for me for accident, illness, loss, or damage to personal property resulting from participation in this adventure program. I permit photo/video images & Science Education Research.
4. I am at least 18 years of age & otherwise legally competent to sign this agreement. I assume full responsibility for the consequences of choosing to participate in this program. I hereby knowingly & intentionally release & hold harmless the Meet Up Organizer & group members from any & all claims, demands, injuries, actions & damage of any kind & nature whatsoever which arise out of or in connection with participating in this outing, regardless such claims are based upon negligence or other grounds.

Try the beginner's rappelling lesson that focuses on safety and fundamental techniques, making it ideal for first-timers or those with limited experience. Participants will be introduced to essential equipment, including ropes, knots , and carabiners with a strong emphasis on proper fitting and inspection. The lesson will cover critical belay safety protocols, safety checks and communication signals. Under the close supervision you will learn and practice key skills, including rigging/tying, belaying and controlling your descent. The experience is designed to build confidence through a low-stress, highly-supported environment, ensuring that every participant understands and feels comfortable with each step before moving on.
All needed equipment is provided.
