Overview

Many Java developers may have heard of Scala and the Play web framework from Typesafe. However, probably far fewer have heard about the Akka framework from the same organisation, or understand what it has to offer. As the Web site says, Akka is a toolkit and runtime for building highly concurrent, distributed, and resilient message-driven applications on the JVM.

This presentation will give an introduction to and overview of Akka. It will also explain how Akka can be and is used to build reactive applications and applications using the CQRS architecture.
