"Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) is a hypothetical AI type capable of understanding, learning, and applying knowledge across any intellectual domain at a human or superhuman level. Unlike current "narrow AI" (e.g., LLMs, chatbots), which operates within limited, trained tasks, AGI would generalize knowledge, adapt to new situations, and solve problems without retraining.

Currently in the Artificial Intelligence sphere the rage is the race to reach Artificial General Intelligence where machine hypothetically will be as adept, if not more so and Intelligent as the masters of our human realms of expertise, but in all those spheres at the same time. Some experts are predicting that AGI will also be able to conduct its own learning and be self directed.

While as fantastic as this sounds and possibly advantageous to human kind and civilisation, it raises some serious questions about our future role in the world?

Two schools of thought are prevalent currently around this, one that AGI will eventually raise humankind out of poverty, solving all of our current challenges in the world like our medical challenges, climate change and even immortality, and then there's the other side of it where AGI completely destroys the human race.

What will the future bring with AGI, artificial intelligence has already disrupted and indeed helped the world in many different ways.

In this discussion we will be doing a deep dive into what role AGI will bring to human civilisation.
