AMOR FATI
“I want to learn more and more to see as beautiful what is necessary in things; then I shall be one of those who make things beautiful. Amor fati: let that be my love henceforth! I do not want to wage war against what is ugly. I do not want to accuse; I do not even want to accuse those who accuse. Looking away shall be my only negation. And all in all and on the whole: some day I wish to be only a Yes-sayer.”
"A blazing fire makes flame and brightness out of everything that is thrown in it ...... Not merely bear what is necessary, still less conceal it, ... but love it."
— Friedrich Nietzsche
"To love ones fate" or "Amor Fati" is a mindset at the heart of stoic philosophy, this group is about the exploration of stoic philosophy and how they apply to life in a realistic way and how we can apply them in a meaningful way.
"Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth"
Mike Tyson
No philosophy should be accepted on face value, and to this point the theme of this group is to go deeply into the practice of stoicism and other philosophies and apply them in a candid way to real and hypothetical life situations and discuss in a robust way the pro's and con's of them and how we can take the gold of what is ancient wisdom and apply it to the modern world.
***Please note, the intention of this group is to have deep, challenging and candid discussions, if you are interested in committing to a long term form of discussion and are comfortable challenging your own belief systems, this group is for you***
