PART 3 of LOVE throughout history & art (at the National Gallery)
Details
We have been exploring the notion of love across twenty centuries. Now it is time to see what happened in the ancient world, when love was not considered a virtue. Was love a passion? A mere feeling? Everything will change dramatically in the first three centuries.
Philosophers and artists have said many things. You can also share your view in this meeting.
This is just a friendly conversation before important masterpieces, guided by a lecturer from The Catholic University of America. Come ready to walk, observe, and engage in thoughtful dialogue.
Five recommendations:
- Reflect Beforehand: Before coming, take a moment to consider how deep are your relationships with others.
- Be on Time! Meet us at 10:15 a.m. at the National Gallery (West Building) inside by the cloakroom of the main entrance (ground floor -- 6th Street and Constitution Avenue NW).
- Hearing Devices will be provided for those who want. We recommend bringing wired headphones or earbuds to connect with these devices for better audio quality.
- Tips Welcome: This is a free event, but tips are welcome. All contributions will go toward helping poor children in Africa (Kenya).
- Optional Coffee Discussion: For those interested, we will have coffee in the same building afterwards to continue discussing these topics.
