Casino Capitalism, Financial Collapse & Radical Reform

Details
We are in a phase of capitalism now characterized by ineffective monetary policy, extreme instability, the heinous concentration of wealth, hyper financialization and galling inequality. The wheels are coming off, are we prepared?
Adam Smith envisioned free markets governed by natural supply & demand, specialization and comparative advantage not dominated by special interests, government interventionism or central bank manipulation.
He would hardly recognize today’s form of capitalism, with its obscene levels of debt issuance, relentless money printing, protectionist tariffs, and the complete impotence of interest rates to manage inflation. These are all symptoms of a system teetering on the edge of a collapse reminiscent of the 1930s.
What are the biggest problems today? How did we get here? Can anything be done? And what alternative systems are possible?
This is not a lecture but an open philosophical conversation. No economics expertise required — just curiosity, critical thinking, and a willingness to question the system we live under.
