Kant's Perpetual Peace Vs Mankind's Perpetual War
Details
With the attacks this week on Iran by Israel and the United States, the world braces for retaliation and the escalation of all-out war in the region.
What of Kant’s model of a voluntary federation of law-governed states aimed at preventing war?
Fight Club asks if this could be avoided and looks at what has brought us to this point. Are our leaders failing us? Is this part of a geopolitical shift in world order? Is it inevitable or is it premeditated? Are institutions like the UN, which are supposed to resolve conflicts through diplomacy, useless? Is the Board of Peace necessary or even what it appear to be?
Can we, as a collection of independent thinkers, do what these institutions can't and solve the problem through reasoned discussion and a simulated League of Nations?
