Well all, it’s been a blast; however our time on the MeetUp platform has come to an end. But please feel free to join us in September for a meeting which will focus on The Lost Virtue of Friendship. With the demise of our group on this social platform, let us get together and discuss what brought us here in the first place. Thoughtful and thought provoking discussions, meaningful conversations (which ranged from the intellectual to just hilariously absurd), and simply getting together with a great group of people to sit and socialize …over a pint of course.
The Lost Virtue of Friendship… Is friendship dying?
J.R.R Tolkien and C.S Lewis considered friendship to be the purest form of love.
Somewhere along the way we’ve lost it; the kind of deep loyal friendships that matter. The basic human connection we read about in The Chronicles of Narnia or Lord of the Rings. The loyalty we see in movies like Band of Brothers. Has recognizing and preserving these deep, healthy, meaningful friendships been lost? Have the superficial water cooler friends become the norm? In Jordan Peterson’s book 12 Rules for Life, Rule #3 is “Make Friends with People Who Want the Best for You.”
So come out for fellowship, friendship, good cheer, some food, some drink, laughter and stories as we converse about the Virtues of Friendship… and prove it’s still alive.
While we are leaving Meetup we still want to meetup. In a place that serves beer and burgers seems to work best.
