It will be the Memorial Day Parade celebration at the American Legion Post, so I have to cancel for this month. Stay informed because I do expect to host on June 22nd (4th Sunday).
Sorry to disappoint those expecting to play, but all Post 82 members, including social members, are welcome to come celebrate the holiday with our Carnegie parade followed by a social at the Legion Post.

Looking to add a little excitement to your Saturday night? Join us June 14th for Euchre “Tourney Style” at the American Legion!

Euchre is a fun game and we typically like to share the joy by teaching others how to play but …. This Euchre game is for experienced players only. If you find following the house rules – which are listed below - difficult, please come and enjoy the company of friends but…. plan on watching rather than playing.

Entry for the card game is $5, the proceeds will be split between the Legion and the “pot”. How the pot will be distributed will be announced before the game. Typically, it’s split between the first and second highest scores but may fluctuate depending on how many players attend. Non card playing attendees pay $0.

5:00 Pot Luck Dinner - We encourage everyone to join us for a potluck dinner. This month Rose is making Sausage & Tortellini. Please bring something to share and join us for dinner and camaraderie!

6 PM to 9 PM - We split into groups of four and play games. Pick your seat but be prepared to rotate after every game. Games are comprised of every player dealing twice. We will play 8 games and the players with the highest scores at the end will win the “pot”.

HOUSE RULES
Please keep in mind that house rules are to ensure uniformity of play - NOT to make this a serious, no fun, horribly competitive game:
1, No stealing the deal
2. No talking across the table –
No “wink wink” suggestions to your partner on what suit you prefer for trump
No reminders about what suit is trump or who played what card previously
3. You have to Play “in turn” – the player to the left of the dealer leads first
4. Once laid, your card is played – even if you just remembered the left bower is trump, if you have laid your card down and removed your hand, then the card is considered played.
5. If there is a misdeal or trump is not called on the second rotation, the deal is passed to the left. This only effects the order of play since each player will deal twice before a game is complete. Any player who had their deal passed should complete their second turn in the same respective order as the original deal.
6. For scoring purposes, any game where the final score exceeds 10 because of a loner hand etc, should enter the ACTUAL score. The score total will be calculated using actual scores and not limited to the game limit of ten.
