Event: Live Recitation of Rilke's Duino Elegies + Open Mic

Join our group of poets for a live recitation of Rilke's Duino Elegies. The cycle consists of 10 elegies and we will recite them all. This is a rare opportunity to hear the entire work from start to finish in one sitting.

Come and experience the transformative power of Rilke's greatest work of poetry. The Duinos are Ancient and modern, solemn and lyrical, mystical and enigmatic. The originals were composed in complex German, and we will be using an excellent modern English translation by David Young.

2025 is the 150 anniversary of Rilke's birth and the event is also in celebration of poet's great contribution to the arts and life poetic.

At the end of the event, we will open the mic for the inspired.

The event is free but cash donations to poetry fund are very welcome! We will have a tip jar available.
